What we collect

Your quiz answers. The titles you pick, what you search for, the descriptions you choose, your reactions, and which streaming services you say you have. These are what produce your ScreenSona.

Your recommendations and ScreenSona. The titles our system selects to recommend to you, the mathematical models we use to define your ScreenSona, and the text of your ScreenSona title and paragraph.

Your email address if you choose to save your recommendations. We keep the address so we can contact you about ScreenSona. Users may receive marketing e-mails from ScreenSona or our direct subsidiaries. We do not sell or transmit any data described in this section to any third party.

A session identifier. A random value in a cookie that lets the site remember your answers between screens. It is not derived from anything about you, and it is not an advertising identifier. It is stored with your quiz answers and is never associated with your e-mail address unless you subscribe, save your recommendations, or otherwise authorize it.

Campaign parameters. Cookies or other information that tell us where you came from or how you found ScreenSona so that we can understand what channels work to bring users in.

Your Internet Service Provider. We may use your IP address to identify your likely Internet Service Provider (e.g. Xfinity, T-Mobile, etc.). We do not store your IP address and do not sell or transmit any data about your personal Internet Service Provider to any third party. This data is never associated with your e-mail address unless you subscribe or otherwise authorize it.

What we do not collect

We do not store your IP address, we do not fingerprint your device, and our code hosts no advertising or analytics script on any page. We do not record which outbound links you follow. Share buttons and in-frame video play may cause some data to be transmitted to third parties.

Cookies

We set one cookie. It is the session cookie your browser gets when you open the site, and it does one thing: it holds a random identifier so the site can match your answers on one screen to your answers on the next. Without it the quiz cannot work.

It is a first-party cookie. It is designed so that page scripts cannot read it and it does not enable tracking. It expires when you close your browser. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings. This will cause you to lose your quiz. There is no other cookie or tracking pixel.

We host preview videos on this site, which may set their own cookies according to their own privacy policies.

Sharing your result

When you share your ScreenSona, the link carries your persona name and its description, the three titles you picked as favorites, and the six numbers that draw your chart — because the card shows all of those.

Your ScreenSona carries no metadata or information that identifies you by name, e-mail, or session. Your card is public- anyone with the link can see it.

We do not share your personal information

We do not share or sell your personal information. When you follow a link to a streaming service, that service and its affiliate network receive the request and apply their own policies. We do not control them.

Our hosting provider, Namecheap, Inc., processes data on our behalf in order to run the site.

We may use third parties to process e-mailing you your results and other communications.

How long we keep information

Your email address is kept for 90 days, or until you ask us to delete them — whichever comes first. After that they are removed.

Your quiz answers are kept separately, and are not linked to you. They are stored against the random session identifier described above, in a place that holds no name, no email address and nothing that points back to one. We keep de-identified quiz information indefinitely and may use it for any purpose.

There is no way to recover your quiz answers or trace them back to you by us or anyone else, unless you save them.

Children

This site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. This site does not contain dangerous or damaging information, but does link to content which is inappropriate for children. Do not let your children use this site unsupervised. Using this site constitutes acknowledgement and acceptance of risks associated with linked content.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change, and revise the date at the top.
